Mitochondria — powerhouses of cells

Since the discovery of mitochondria in 1886, it has been certain that these "power plants of cells" – a conceptual classification that was only coined by Philipp Siekewitz in 1957 – are inherited from the mother and therefore cannot be altered in their number or in the quality of their energy efficiency.

This would have meant that if cells had an average supply of mitochondria, whether due to maternal inheritance or damage caused by toxins, we would have no opportunity to improve our cellular energy supply. However, this energy is the basis for the special performance of our cells. If it is no longer sufficient, many gene segments are regularly switched off to ensure only the most necessary functions of the cell. The result: We age rapidly!

Cycling provides an illustrative example: Anyone who follows the Tour de France knows the performance difference between Tadej Pogačar and his competitors. It is known that he uses long fasting training, fasting periods, and reduced sugar intake in his preparation to specifically train his mitochondria. The result is exceptionally high aerobic performance (VO2 max), which explains his superiority, particularly on mountains.

It has been known for several years — and proven in cutting-edge medical literature — that we can activate genes such as the so-called AMPK and, as a result, the PGC1 alpha gene using factors such as secondary plant substances, combined with special training methods such as fasting training. The SIRT gene also plays an important role here. Together, they repair and reproduce mitochondria.

GYCELL is conceptually focused on this production of new mitochondria. In addition, with active ingredients such as alpha lipoic acid and acetyl-L-carnitine, it detoxifies these power plants so that heavy metals can no longer block the crucial processes of the respiratory chain.

We are delighted every day that our patients, athletes, and longevity customers have succeeded in using GYCELL.
